Google major update is a grand evaluation of pages in the web. It is observed to occur every three (3) months. Although Googlebot is crawling millions of pages daily, Google major update determines ranking results for the keywords. This could mean a lot for websites launching SEO campaign – it is the ultimate measure of the effectiveness of the SEO techniques and strategies being used.
Prior to observed statistics on Google crawling rate, this week is supposed to be the schedule of Google major update. It has become noticeable that there are more pages being crawled daily. I usually let Google manage the crawl rate for my sites. Apparently, within this week, crawl rate reached the record high of almost 4,000 pages in just one day.
